About me

Ella Barrington (she/her) is an award-winning business, project and operations director, who carved her career in the ambitious world of motorsport.

I spend my time as a management consultant and contractor, specialising in commercial project management, operations, and strategic implementation - making things happen on time and budget. I like to make hard things look easy for my clients.

An advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEM, I am also an active volunteer and engaging speaker for hire.

I gained a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Leeds, and then returned to Oxfordshire to study for a Masters of Science in Racing Engine Design at Oxford Brookes University. I have since joined the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics at my local alma mater as an Associate Lecturer. If I can explain business and management stuff to hungover students, I can probably explain it pretty well!

I'm currently studying part-time on the Global MBA programme at Oxford Brookes University Business School. I'm already a qualified PRINCE2Ā® Project Management Practitioner. PRINCE2Ā®, originally developed by the UK Government, is one of the world's leading project management methodologies.

Since graduating, I have worked in the relentless world of professional motorsport and engineering in a variety of technical and commercial roles. I began consulting in 2016 to bring the fundamental things Iā€™ve learnt in motorsport to businesses like yours.

I want to dispel the myth that technical things can only be understood by people who are good at maths. And that engineers donā€™t ā€œdo peopleā€.

In 2022, I become a Fellow of The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce (The RSA). I am also a senior judge for the annual Institution of Mechanical Engineers Formula Student competition, specialising in the business plan and presentation round.

If I sound like your kinda woman, you can find out more about what I do, think and talk about, or just get in touch...
